OUR STORY

American Grade started out back in 2010, but has been known as Northern Grade over the years – a nationally recognized and respected platform that focuses on brands and products Made in America. It was a pretty simple idea back then – to create a eclectic atmosphere over the course of a weekend where we connect and introduce consumers to brands and products made right here. It succeeded.

Fast forward though the years and we ended up producing 48 weekend marketplaces in numerous cities around the country, established partnerships with GQ and opened and operated 9 multi-brand brick and mortar retail stores in Manhattan, Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley. It was a wild ride, but the most important result was that Northern Grade forged close relationships with thousands of brands, designers and factories in all corners of the country.

We were excited to open up our 9th Northern Grade location in mid-town Manhattan in 2019, but then came March 2020...

While the pandemic may have shut down Northern Grade physically, we were already thinking of the next evolution and the next steps – our own products.

Over the years, we talked to plenty of folks and knew that products Made in the USA are appreciated and valued by all consumers across all demographics.

We experienced it first-hand at our weekend marketplaces and in our stores. Regardless of a person’s background, age, gender, political ideology, etc., Made in USA is something that everyone supports and can get behind. Yet, it is unattainable for most consumers. Why?

Because nobody was focusing on finding a way to create an affordable apparel brand with a 100% American supply chain that sells actually affordable products.

Others said it can’t be done, but after several months, some delays, numerous iterations and lots of determination, American Grade is here.

A commitment. A commitment to manufacture high-quality products in American communities from coast to coast.
